You will not be in this new journey. Having a child with Autism is and will be challenging. But with some care and support you will also learn that it can be so rewarding.. Getting the diagnosis for your child can feel like a wrecking ball. The child you envisioned growing up to be a doctor, a veterinarian or an astronaut now are off the table. The tantrums, hitting, yelling and isolation now make some sense, but you feel so lost. None of your parent friends will truly understand your struggles. I have been there. Felt so alone I wanted to throw in the towel. But we persevered! I now am able to say how funny my autistic child is, and how much I learn from him. I can teach you aswell.
